| I was born in Oakland, California but grew up in San Diego. I have been learning music and performing for forty two years. I started teaching music when I was sixteen. After becoming an accomplished pianist and organist, I started conducting church choir. Since then, I have taught chorale music at many schools and churches in San Diego. I have also performed with recording artists Jason Mraz at many of his concerts! What I love to do most is work with children. I love training their voices and teaching them piano and music theory. I also enjoy teaching choir choreography. I have three children that also help me with music, Bobby, Shardie and Dupree. I also have a great youth show choir that travels around the world and are called MADA Youth and Children’s Choir. This choir has won many competitions and has recorded two CD’s; we are in the process of recording our third album. |
The children in MADA are at-risk youth but, through music, we teach them that they are saved from the streets. My mission in teaching is to enhance the lives of the young people in San Diego through music and academic education to motivate them not to use drugs and to not to engage in violent behavior. |
